Chronic pain affects millions of people, often leaving them reliant on painkillers or facing limited options after physiotherapy has failed to bring relief. Acupuncture offers a gentle, drug-free alternative that works with the body’s own healing mechanisms rather than against them. By inserting fine needles at specific points along the body’s meridians, acupuncture helps release blocked energy, or qi, restoring balance and reducing inflammation. This traditional Chinese therapy, now widely recommended by NICE as a treatment for chronic pain, headaches and migraines, has helped many patients regain mobility and independence without medication.

At Derek Climpson’s clinics in Chelmsford, Brentwood and Leigh-on-Sea, numerous patients have experienced significant improvement in chronic conditions ranging from sciatica and arthritis to persistent back, neck and shoulder pain.

A detailed medical history was taken prior to the start of treatment, which was explained thoroughly. Very professional. My back is now good, stiffness is minimal and now no sciatic pain. Very happy with the results so far.’
